Position Title = > Senior Instrument Technician – Cogeneration & Steam Turbine plant

Qualification => DAE Electrical/Electronics

Employment Type => One Year (Contractual)

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Sr. Instrument Technician to join our Cogeneration Power plant equipped with steam turbines and a 132 kV grid interconnection, located in Punjab. The role focuses on the maintenance, troubleshooting, calibration, and reliability of instrumentation and control systems supporting safe and efficient plant operation and grid export.

🕒 Experience Required: 7–8 Years (Steam Turbine / Cogeneration / Power plant experience preferred)

📝 Key Responsibilities:

Carry out preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance of field instruments, including pressure, temperature, flow, and level transmitters, switches, analyzers, and control valves.
• Troubleshoot instrumentation and control issues related to steam turbines, auxiliaries, balance of plant, and grid interface systems.
• Perform calibration, loop checking, functional testing, and commissioning support for field instruments and control loops.
• Maintain and troubleshoot control systems, including PLC, DCS, turbine governing systems, interlocks, and protection-related instrumentation.
• Maintain and troubleshoot control valves, actuators, positioners, solenoid valves, and associated pneumatic systems.
• Support maintenance of vibration, speed, and condition monitoring instrumentation for rotating equipment.
• Read and interpret P&IDs, loop diagrams, logic diagrams, instrument datasheets, and control narratives for effective fault diagnosis.
• Maintain accurate records of calibrations, breakdowns, loop checks, and instrument history in line with plant procedures.
• Strictly follow instrumentation safety practices, LOTO, permit-to-work systems, and statutory safety requirements.

🎯 Required Skills & Competencies:

• Strong hands-on experience in instrumentation maintenance and troubleshooting in steam turbine cogeneration power plants.
• Solid understanding of process control, turbine instrumentation, and plant auxiliaries.
• Ability to diagnose faults in control loops, interlocks, and trip systems under operating conditions.
• Familiarity with calibration tools, process simulators, and field-testing equipment.
• Basic reporting and documentation skills using MS Word and Excel.
• Strong safety mindset with disciplined and methodical work practices.
