Position: NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR

Iqra University is looking for candidates for the position of ‘Network Administrator.’ We are inviting applications from candidates who meet the criteria given below:

PURPOSE:

The role involves end-to-end management of IT infrastructure, including network administration, server management, and systems support. The position requires close coordination with service providers, proactive troubleshooting, documentation, and collaboration on infrastructure projects to align IT operations with organizational needs.

KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Network administration (including backup, security management, user account management, e-mail systems, web server, internet access, office systems, and application support).
• Install, configure, and maintain networking hardware (routers, switches, firewalls, wireless APs).
• Coordination with service providers regarding issues related to the Internet, and  WAN links across different sites.
• Troubleshoot communication and networking problems and provide preventive measures.
• Document system and network configurations, procedures, and change management records.
• Provide technical support for both network and server-related issues.
• Deploy new hardware and software to ensure optimal deployment of resources.
• Plan, implement, and support the network infrastructure plan.
• Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions.
• Monitor network performance, ensure uptime, and optimize network infrastructure.
• Manage network services such as DNS, DHCP, NTP, and VPN.
• Implement and maintain network security policies, firewalls, and access control systems.
• Administer Windows/Linux servers including installation, updates, and performance tuning.
• Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, user accounts, and permissions.
• Maintain and monitor backup solutions for both network and system components.
• Deploy, update, and maintain virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, etc.).
• Ensure system patching and vulnerability management for servers and network devices.
• Collaborate with other IT staff to design and implement infrastructure projects.
